- 9 am 1Fort George: the harbour view over St. George'sSt. George's
Start up high: the fort on the headland gives the classic view over the red roofs and the Carenage, travellers say. It is the police headquarters, so access has been weekdays in daytime; dress modestly and don't photograph officers. The walk uphill from the Carenage is short but steep.
- 10 am 2Market Square and the spice stallsSt. George's
Spices, fruit and crafts. Buy nutmeg, mace and cocoa balls here rather than at the cruise terminal. Saturday morning is busiest; expect some sales pressure from stallholders. Closed Sundays unless a cruise ship is in.
- 11 am 3Grenada National MuseumSt. George's
A small museum in an 18th-century building on Young Street, covering Amerindian ceramics through the 1979 revolution. Look for the wind vane over the archway. Only a token entry fee. Hours are short on Saturdays and it is closed Sundays; phone ahead because it does not post current hours online.
3 min walk · 50 m - 12 pm 4House of Chocolate: tasting and a light lunchSt. George's
A mini museum of Grenada's tree-to-bar chocolate, with a cafe doing brownies, chocolate and nutmeg milkshakes and ice cream. Every traveller account we used stopped here. Mon to Sat, closed Sunday. Street parking is near impossible, so walk.
4 min walk · 350 m - 1:15 pm 5The Carenage and Christ of the DeepSt. George's
Walk the horseshoe harbour on Wharf Road. The bronze Christ of the Deep statue honours the Grenadians who helped passengers of the Bianca C, the liner that burned off Grand Anse in 1961. Its wreck is now one of the island's best-known dives.
8 min by train or taxi · 2.8 km - 2:30 pm 6Grand Anse Beach for the afternoonGrand Anse
Two miles of public sand ten minutes south of town by minibus number 1. One traveller's biggest regret was giving it too little time, so stay all afternoon. Calm water for swimming and snorkelling.
- 5:30 pm 7Sunset dinner at Umbrella's Beach BarGrand Anse
The two-storey beach bar travellers keep going back to. Sit on the roof deck for the view; reviewers name the shrimp tacos, wings and nutmeg ice cream. Open from 11:00 daily. Last call is punctual and it gets slow at peak times.
- Day 29 am – 9:30 pm · 4 stops
- 9 am 8Snorkel the Underwater Sculpture Park at MolinèreMolinère
The world's first underwater sculpture park, in shallow water a short boat ride north of St. George's; the ring of figures holding hands is the famous one. Go with a licensed snorkel or dive boat. Since 1 Oct 2026 the marine protected area fee is US$7 per person per visit (cost shown), on top of the tour. Morning water is usually calmest.
- 1:30 pm 9Annandale FallsAnnandale
A 30-foot fall into a swimmable pool in a garden grotto, about 20 minutes from town (bus 7 from Melville Street). Local jumpers dive for tips. Bring bug spray, and avoid cruise-ship days if you can. Entry is a small fee.
8 min by train or taxi · 4.9 km - 3 pm 10Fort Frederick on Richmond HillMorne Jaloux
A French-begun, British-finished fort above the capital, with the widest panorama on the island. Entry about US$2. The top is windy and humid, so skip it in rain.
13 min by train or taxi · 13 km - 6 pm 11Fish Friday in GouyaveGouyave
Fridays only: the fishing town's weekly street party with grilled fish, lobster and oil down, from about 17:00 until late. Arrive by 18:00, because oil down and the best skewers sell out. Cash only in small EC dollars and there's no ATM in town. Fix a return taxi in advance; minibuses thin out by about 22:30. On another day, move it to a Friday.
- Day 38:30 am – 4 pm · 4 stops
- 8:30 am 12Grand Etang crater lake and the mona monkeys
A crater lake in the rainforest on the road across the island. Visitors usually see mona monkeys near the car park. The full lake loop takes about 1.5 hours, and Seven Sisters falls is a muddy extra; take a guide, as trails are easy to lose. Entry about US$2 to 2.50.
13 min by train or taxi · 13 km - 11 am 13River Antoine Rum Distillery
Working since 1785 with a water wheel to crush the cane, and travellers rate it the island's most memorable stop. The tour ends with a tasting of very strong rum, so sip small if you are driving. Open daily, shorter hours at weekends; about an hour from St. George's.
8 min by train or taxi · 2.0 km - 12:30 pm 14Belmont Estate: cocoa tour and Grenadian lunchHermitage
A 17th-century plantation that now grows and processes organic cocoa. Take a short guided tour of the drying and fermenting, then the Creole lunch from estate produce. Book tours and lunch on the estate's site. Older guides list it closed Saturdays, so check.
18 min by train or taxi · 11 km - 3:15 pm 15Gouyave Nutmeg Processing StationGouyave
Watch nutmeg and mace being sorted by hand in the cooperative's old station, on a short guided tour (US$1). Weekdays and daytime only, so get there well before 16:00. The shop by the entrance sells nutmeg products.
